Adults aged 18-64 with no known eye conditions are eligible to use the Eyebot kiosk.
Can I get a contacts prescription with the Eyebot kiosk?
No. Currently, the Eyebot kiosk works for eyeglass prescriptions only.
Do I need an appointment to use an Eyebot kiosk?
No. You can use the Eyebot kiosk at any time without ever having to make an appointment. Be sure to check for operating hours at the location closest to you.
Does Eyebot prescribe directly from the kiosk?
No—just like in a regular vision test, Eyebot collects multiple points of patient data (including visual acuity, refraction, and lensometer data, and then our tele-doctors craft a final prescription just like in their own clinic.
Can I purchase glasses through the kiosk?
No, Eyebot is not a glasses retailer. But you can take your Eyebot prescription and buy glasses at any optical retailer that you choose.
How accurate is Eyebot’s eye scanner?
Eyebot’s second generation (Gen2) touch-free autorefractor technology is on par with the gold standard clinical systems.
Does the Eyebot kiosk use AI to write prescriptions?
No. Every prescription issued through Eyebot is written and verified by a licensed eye doctor. The Eyebot kiosk collects refraction, lensometry, visual acuity, and patient history—information commonly gathered in an eye care clinic. Those results are securely sent to a licensed eye doctor who reviews them and decides whether or not to issue a prescription.
